Privacy Policy

Last updated June 27, 2026

CineDossier is a private tool for a documentary production team. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We collect only what is needed to run the Service for the team — there is no advertising and no third-party ad tracking.

What we collect

  • Account information — your name and email address, and either a securely hashed password or, if you use Google sign-in, your Google email and verified-email status.
  • Project data you enter — the research and production records you and the team create (timeline, people, sources, footage, archives, questions, tasks, notes, and links).
  • Basic usage data — login sessions and simple counts used to operate the Service and show admins a project overview. We do not use third-party analytics.
  • Notification subscriptions — if you enable push notifications, the technical subscription details for your device’s browser.

How we use it

  • to operate the hub and let the team collaborate on the production;
  • to authenticate you and keep your account secure;
  • to send the in-app and push notifications you opt into; and
  • to maintain backups and keep the Service reliable.

How it’s stored & protected

Data is stored in a private database hosted on Cloudflare. Passwords are stored only as salted PBKDF2 hashes — never in plain text. Access is restricted to signed-in team members on the allowlist.

Service providers we rely on

We do not sell your data or share it for advertising. We use a small number of providers to run the Service:

  • Cloudflare — hosting, database, and content delivery.
  • Google — optional sign-in (only if you choose “Continue with Google”).
  • Push services (Apple, Google, or Mozilla) — to deliver the push notifications you enable.

Cookies

We use a single, essential cookie to keep you signed in. There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Your choices

  • Turn notifications on or off anytime in User Settings.
  • Update your display name and password in User Settings.
  • Request a copy, correction, or deletion of your account data by emailing help@cinedossier.com.

Retention

Account and project data are kept for the life of the production and in backups, then removed when no longer needed or on request, subject to any legal obligations.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time; the “Last updated” date above reflects the latest version.
